How to Earn From Travel and Local App Offers, Step by Step

Before you tap install

Read the milestone line twice and decide what it is really asking. Travel offers are written compactly, and the difference between book a hotel and complete a stay is the difference between an evening and a fortnight. If the wording mentions checkout, check-in, trip completion or return of the vehicle, you are looking at an offer that will not credit until after your travel dates.

Then check the geography. Many travel platforms operate seriously in a handful of countries and nominally everywhere else. An offer can be visible to you and still be impractical if the nearest qualifying property or car is nowhere near you. Open the app store listing, look at the cities named, and be honest about whether one of them is somewhere you go.

Finally, price it. Work out roughly what the qualifying purchase will cost you and compare that with the payout. If the reward is a partial rebate on a trip you were taking anyway, that is a good offer. If it is a partial rebate on a trip that exists only because of the offer, it is a discount on something you did not want.

Install and attribution

If it is a booking milestone

Do the entire booking inside the app you installed through the offer. Not the mobile website, not a desktop tab, not a phone call to the property. Pay with a normal personal card, and skip any coupon code you found outside the app, because a third-party promo code can reassign the sale to a different source and take your reward with it.

Then actually go. A stay credits on check-in or checkout, a rental credits when the car comes back, a flight credits after it is flown. Cancelling voids the reward almost universally, and modifying a booking heavily can do the same by replacing the original reference number. If your plans are genuinely uncertain, this is not the offer for you.

Getting paid

Expect the reward to appear as pending long before it clears. The hold period exists because the advertiser has to wait out the cancellation and refund window, which for travel can run to weeks after the trip itself. Nothing has gone wrong during that wait, and chasing it early will not speed it up.

1. Keep your booking confirmation email and reference number until the reward clears.
2. Note the exact date you installed and the date you booked.
3. Screenshot the offer terms as they read on the day you accepted them.
4. If the trip completed and nothing lands after the stated window, open a support ticket with all of the above.
