    The short answer
    • Idle ladders pay less per offer and more per hour of actual attention.
    • Deep hero collectors carry the biggest headline figures and the highest chance of not finishing.
    • Running one heavy offer alongside one automatic one beats running two of either.

    Headline versus hourly

The number on an offer card tells you what the advertiser is willing to pay for a player who reaches a certain depth. It tells you nothing about how long that depth takes, and in role playing games the variation is enormous. Two offers with similar figures can differ by a factor of three in hours required, and the card gives no hint which is which.

The useful comparison is reward divided by expected hours, adjusted by the odds you actually finish. That second adjustment is the one people skip, and it is where RPG offers differ from every other category. An unfinished puzzle offer costs you a few evenings; an unfinished chapter-20 collector ladder can cost you two weeks and pay nothing at all.

    Three shapes of ladder

    Idle and AFK ladders

The gentlest shape. Progress accrues while the app is closed, so the offer is largely a test of whether you remember to check in. Headline payouts sit at the lower end of the category, but the attention cost is minutes a day, and the completion rate is high because there is no skill gate to fail. Titles built around automatic combat sit here.

    Action RPG level ladders

Offers stated as a character level in a game you actively play. The middle of the range on payout and the most predictable on timing, because level curves are steady and you can usually feel your rate after two sessions. Dungeon Hunter 6 is a fair example of the shape: real combat, real sessions, a milestone you can forecast.

    Hero collector chapter ladders

The deepest and best paying. These ask for a campaign chapter well past the point where the game's power curve starts fighting back, and getting there means understanding the upgrade economy rather than simply putting in hours. RAID: Shadow Legends sits squarely in this group. The payout reflects genuine difficulty, not generosity.

    Where ladders break down

Every deep RPG ladder has a point where the curve steepens noticeably, usually somewhere in the middle chapters. Before it, progress feels generous and you can easily believe you are ahead of schedule. After it, the same daily routine yields a fraction of what it did, and the offer that looked comfortable on day four looks impossible on day nine.

Knowing that this step exists is most of the defence against it. Assume the second half of a chapter ladder takes twice as long as the first half, and judge whether the deadline still works under that assumption. If it does not, take a shallower offer for the same fortnight and finish it.

    • Time is the real cost, and the game controls the exchange rate, not you.
    • Deadlines do not extend, so a slow start is rarely recoverable in a deep ladder.
    • A finished small offer beats an unfinished large one every single time.
    • Anything that asks you to spend money to keep pace has stopped being worth it.

    How I would rank them

    1. Idle and AFK ladders, for value per hour of attention.
    2. Action level ladders, for predictable pacing and a fair payout.
    3. Collector chapter ladders, for the largest reward at the largest risk.

On value per hour of attention, idle ladders win clearly. They ask for consistency rather than skill or long sessions, and consistency is the cheapest thing to supply. Anyone fitting offers around a full week should start here and probably stay here.

Action level ladders come second and are the best choice if you would enjoy the game anyway. The forecasting is honest, the pace is under your control, and the payout is respectable without demanding that you learn an economy.

Collector chapter ladders pay the most and I would only take one with clear eyes. If you have two free weeks, a genuine interest in the genre, and the patience to concentrate resources properly, the reward is real. If any of those three is missing, the headline figure is a number you will not collect.
